| Lynn Matthews-Richard (Faculty) E-mail: lrichard@esc5.net Bio: After high school, I attended Lamar and received a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. My first assignment teaching was at the B.C. Junior High (what a challenge!). I spent the next next four years at Hatton Elem. in fourth grade. During that time, I obtained a Master's Degree in Education. The next 6 years, I was a stay at home mom with our twin girls. While at home, I did teach at the First Baptist Pre-Kindergarten for three years. It was something the girls and I could do together. When Haley and Hannah entered first grade, I went back to Hatton and taught Transition, 2nd grade, 3 grade and back to 2nd grade for a total of ten more years. In 2004, BCISD restructured the Elementary campuses. Hatton became a Pre-K -K campus only. All first and second graders are now located at Sims. So, for my 16th year in public education, I moved to Sims, the elementary that I attended as a youngster and where my mother, Juana Matthews, taught for 23 years. Teaching for me has been both challenging and rewarding. (Updated 9/4/2005) |
