We have 2 daughters (Jen 17 and=20 Katie 14). Now reside in St. Joseph, Michigan. I did plastics extrusion for 15 years before going back to school for a mechanical engineering degree. After grad, I did piping and mechanical systems design for 6 years or so in Houston (Lived in Alvin, TX for 20 years). Decided last year to get out of the offices and back into the plants for more hands on stuff. I am currently the production manager/engineer of a plastics extrusion plant doing wood/plastic composites. We just signed a contract with Home Depot too (15 million/year to start). I met my husband, had 2 great sons and have had the blessing of staying home with them for many years. Jordan plays hockey and basketball and Aaron plays hockey. Each year, Aaron's team travels to the Lower 48 for a hockey tournament (usually Presidents Day) so look for us if your town hosts ice hockey tournaments! I've also now begun my new career in real estate last year and enjoy the growth that comes with that as well as the flexibility to still be available to our sons all the time. Since my husband still works two weeks of every month in Prudhoe Bay on the Alaska Pipeline, this is very important to our family. I would love to hear from any fellow BC folks. I am married to a wonderful woman with an artistic bent and twisted sense of humor. OK here's the low down, after leaving BC went Nacanowhere and finished school got a job as a food broker for 4 years and as fate would have it I had a store in BC that I sold to. Got a license to practice real estate in August of 1985and moved to Dallas. Thought I made the biggest mistake of my life going from a good salary job company car to commission only and no benefits. Things did get better finally. When they did Brad joined me, and has been smokin ever since. Got married to a nude dancer ( just kidding) 12 years ago, have 2 mean-ass step kids, but otherwise things are going pretty good. My wife and I live in the suburbs of Dallas (Carrollton) and love it. Well having an older brother I was referred to a lot as Brad s little brother. I learned a lot from his friends good and bad. Going to Burgertown and smoking for example jumping off the cow bayou bridges. I remember the time Rusty Palmore jumped off the little bridge and landed on a passing jet boat below and broke his leg. Have good memories of coaches and teachers. Had a sister who died in 73 and would like to hear from anyone who knew her, or Brad and I. As I look back now with no regrets I would not have traded places with anyone. The early years in BC < believe it or not> helped prepare me for a very full life that I now enjoy. My step son and daughter can hardly believe me when I tell them the stories. Have not been back to BC in about 16 years. Brad did go to his 20th reunion and had a ball. I have been using my new found freedom in a productive manner, though. Like trying to remember what I did with my free time prior to children and full time work. My son Chad (19 y/o twin) lives in Beaumont with us - going to Lamar studying Biology. He has a sweet girlfriend & a new job at Johnson Controls in the Exxon/Mobil plant. My son Brad (19 y/o twin) is in the Army stationed in Camp Casey, South Korea about 40 miles north of Seoul. He's starting a degree in general studies, taking Praying Mantis Kung Fu & Tai Kwon Do, as well as learning to speak & read the language there. Thanks to email, cell phones, and myspace, we get to talk or at least communicate fairly often. My step-son Joey (17 y/o) is a Senior at Hamshire-Fannett HS and job hunting. And, last but not least, my only daughter Tara (16 y/o) is a Junior at BC. She's a beautiful BC Strutter and in the art club. She's driving her own car, now! Tony is a Sherriff Deputy in Chamber County; his territory is Winnie. We plan to move that direction after I graduate (and payoff the mounting college loan)! Durring those years, I went to Lamar where I became a State Certified Firefighter/EMT. I found a interest in teaching and educating people in Safety. I married Kim in 1989 after dating for 5 years. I married her for her money and I aint leaving till I get it. I landed a job as an Airport Firefighter for about 8 years where I became a State Certified Instructor in both Aircraft Crash Fire Rescue and Municipal fire fighting. I then left it and went into driving a Eighteen Wheeler Tow truck for 10 years. Lots of hard hours and sleepless time spent there. I returned to Lamar Institute of Technology where after 7 years of part time school, I graduated with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health. With a lot of support from my wife Kim and a lot of hard work, I landed a great job with a lot of responsibility. Kim and I raise two spoiled kids who don't want to leave home. Guess I'll have to buy an RV and burn down the house. Life has been tough, but good, everything has come from hard work sleepless nights and a BiG BLESSING FROM GOD. I've learned a valuble lesson in life (After loosing a younger brother and Neice) and that is your friends are your greatest asset, keep them close. In 2001 I returned to school and earned my Bachelors degree in early childhood education. I graduated in Aug. 2003 and started working at Hatton as a first grade teacher that same month. I am very busy with my two children -Brett(Sports, math&science, church) - Brooke(Dancing, piano, church), with work, and church. Stu and I teach the Adult 3 class and Awanas at First Baptist. I haven't looked at this site in 100 years and realized how out-of-date my bio was! I hope all of my former B-dot-C-dot classmates are well and happy! I haven't actually been to that part of the world since 2004 when my mom passed away, but I like to think that Bridge City hasn't changed a bit (silly, I know). I live in Little Elm, TX (northern part of the D/FW metroplex) with three brilliant children, two goofy Pugs, a cat and a half and a hamster. Yes, it is every bit as glamorous as it sounds. ;) My children keep me busy and highly entertained. My daughters figure skate and my son plays hockey, so we spend time (and every cent of my disposable income) at the ice rink 5 days a week. When we're not skating or doing some sort of Boy Scout/Girl Scout activity, we're running around doing something else--we don't sit still much. Besides my primary role as mom, I'm working on my MBA (6 classes left). I took a break from my marketing career a few years back to teach, but, after a couple of years, I returned to my field. I work as a consultant for a marketing firm called LatiMark. My work is demanding, but rewarding and exciting. I married the August after graduation. I was a housewife for a couple of years, then had my first son, Matt. I stayed at home with him and had my second son Cody, a few years later. A few months after Cody was born I started college. I got my Bachelors Degree in Psychology, then my Masters in Counseling. I have been working at a mental health agency with clients who have either major depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia for almost 10 years now. The past three years I have been working with a specialized caseload of clients who have one of those disorders and who are on felony probation. It is definately not a boring job! Also, about three years ago my husband and I separated. The divorce has been final now since October of 2008. I noticed that most of you are still married, and my advice is if at all possible...stay that way! Times have changed and dating at this age is no fun! My older son, Matthew, is 20 now and has been in the Navy since he graduated in 2007. My youngest son, Cody, is 17 and is living with me. Both are great kids. I couldn't be prouder. Lots of hills, deer, wildflowers, bluebonnets, lakes, etc.. and sometimes it snows. It is almost as beautiful as Bridge City (not). I am still living in the Houston area. I work for a Travel Management company. We do coporate travel for Fortune 500 companies. Was a police officer out there and never had a dull day. While in Vegas, I got back into the Marine Corps reserve after being out for 4 years and got called up to active duty for a little 6 month camping trip to the deserts of Iraq. Never had a dull day there either:-) Came back with a few more grey hairs and lotsa stories. I guess one of those stories (or maybe the grey hair) must've impressed a certain lady cause she agreed to marry me( she said "yes" at a weak moment)last Nov. 18th. Great girl and I'm blessed to have her. We're living in Midland, TX right now, for those of you who might know WHERE that is, and I'm flying a Beechcraft King Air for a living now, for those of you who know WHAT that is.
