Was a professional student at Texas Tech in Lubbock for all of the 1970's, finally attaining a BA in English in 1980. Joined the Navy at age 30 in 1982 and spent time onboard the then-new CVN70 Carl Vinson carrier. I've been in the DFW area since 1987. Married late at 37 to a local gal in 1989. We've got an amazing 10 yr old son who may be someone like Tim Burton when he grows up. Went to a local Junior College and finished an Associate Degree in Aircraft Maintenance with an A&P license at the end of 1990. Worked on general aviation aircraft until hired by GTE several years ago. Now Verizon, I am in Central Office Tech Support. The pay is better than aircraft. Also have had a Private Pilot license since the summer of Lubbock HS graduation 1970. The late 1960's were a great time to be a teenager in High School! I managed restaurants for several years and finally settled into the hotshot trucking as a driver, dispatcher and now in accounting. I'v been married to my wife for 38 years now. I'm very involved in church and activities. I'm an ordained minister and a Chaplain. I do volunteer Chaplain work at a state prison in Humble. A group of us elderly people from church go around and sing gospel music at retirement homes, assisted living and other homes helping the needy and elderly. My parents live about 40 miles north of Jasper Tx just outside of Hemphill Tx and I visit them often. I still enjoy visiting a BC football game and running into some old friends from time to time. I'll forever be a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoy taking in a game every now and then. I don't do much traveling now since I'm so involved in church, but I have traveled alot and may do some in the future. If I can make it, by the grace and help of God, I hope to be able to work 6 more years then retire. Cathy and I have two kids. Keagan is a Junior in college in South Carolina and Calie is a Sophomore in High School. Both are special kids, if I must say so myself. I am one of three partners in a Financial Planning Firm in Virginia Beach (Financial Designs of Virginia). Been doing this since 1986 when I left Unisys Corporation. I took an early retirement from Lyondell-Citgo in '07 to protect my money, and before it got any worse out there (they went bankrupt in '08). Looking to make a transition to a service-related job in the plants, to make up for economic losses since my "retirement", and eventually moving to our land south of Blanco TX. Gail & I enjoy our grandkids (7 so far), family time, and love the Lord & serving Him. Jo Ann Foster found me the other day and told me about the class reunion. I hope someone remembers me. I was not very popular nor was I very active in school events but I always admired those of you who were. When I graduated from high school, I worked for a while then got married in 1972. In 1996 I got divorced. I served in the Air Force for a couple of years, got out, then joined the reserves. After 12 years, I decided that was not for me. I will be retiring from Civil Service in about 5 years with 30 years service. I have been at the VA Hospital in Houston for about 20 years and I live in Hitchcock, Texas. I am a proud grandmother a 7 year old girl (Monica). She is the light of my life. My daughter Stephanie is 28 and my son Aurbin, is 26. I am looking forward to coming to our 30th class reunion. I have not attended any of the previous class reunions. I left BC after the first semester of our Sophomore year, and I've never been back to visit, so I'm sure most of you won't remember me - but I remember you. I attended 14 different public schools from K to 12, and BCHS was my very favorite - really! Everyone was so warm and friendly; it really didn't matter that I hadn't grown up with you - I was one of you after the first week of our Freshman year. I remember great football games, poster parties, and something called a "Swamp Stomp." Do you remember "Running Bear" playing on the juke box in the cafeteria during lunch? Anyway it will be great to see you all after all these years at the reunion next month. I will also get to re-unite with my adopted family, the Schexnider's, since Charlotte is rounding all of them up for me - what a great weekend! I work in marketing (but am otherwise honest) as a product manager for a software company that sells to the Utility and Municipal market. It's very exciting since every project is "global" and the technology is always bleeding edge. Watch out for de-regulation - if you don't like what's happened to your phone bills, you'll really be surprised how your electric bill and service are about the change in Texas. I have an MBA from LeTourneau University - have any of you attended their campus in Houston? - it's a great program, if you're interested. My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 28 years, we live on a farm near Athens and Palestine on land that has been in his family for over a hundred years. I commute 100+ miles to Tyler each day. Our daughter, Julie, is an Admissions Counselor for Tyler Junior College if you want to send your children or grandchildren (are we truly that old?) to beautiful East Texas to begin their higher education. She is about to marry and move to Virginia where her future husband is a tennis coach at William and Mary in Williamsburg. More when we see each other in October - please come to the reunion - I'd really love to see each of you! This is where my Grandmother and Mother were raised so it is as though I have come to a place where I meet new cousins every week. This is a wonderful area to live with excellent beaches and wonderful golf courses plus it is the home of the original Mardi Gras which will be starting shortly. Instead, I worked for five years at Texaco Inc. and the last twenty years for Dupont. My most interesting assignment for Dupont was as the recruiter for the Orange and Beaumont sites. Got to talk to lots of college students from all over the country! My husband, Leroy, and I have three sons -- Todd - 32, Ryan- 21, who will be married this November, and Cody- 15. Leroy and I swim several times a week--and I'm happy to say that I have worked up to 21 laps! We enjoy doing things with our friends--some of the ones we hang out with are Dale Etheridge, Larry Jacobs, Steve and Melinda Sanders! We also spend lots of time as sponsors of Cody's youth group at church. E-mail: rswills@worldnet.att.net I sure do miss those high school days. Growing up on the bayou was really special. I've been in the Clear Lake (south Houston) area, since I graduated from Lamar U.. I am the proud father of 3 kids. Dustin is 16, Lindsey is 13, and Hailey is 7. I think that I am supposed to be a grandfather now. Well, I guess I started a bit later than most. My precious wife (Kelly) passed away three years ago. Life has never been the same. My heart goes out to the loved ones and friends of the many classmates that we have lost. We stay very busy. My kids and I are always on the water, fishing, sking, but most of all just flat enjoying the water and open air. Just like everybody else, the kids are involved in sports and just about everything else kids can into. They sure have a way of keeping you young at heart. I'm still fortunate enough to be playing music professionally. The current group is called LCRoots and has been together some 20 years now. We play all kinds of music and play all over Houston. It is a great way to relax and meet people. My real job is with a company called BetzDearborn. It's a really good job, in that it pays (thank God), but most importantly, it gives me the flexibility to get my kids where they need to go. Well, I've rambled on enough. We have survived our eldest son having cancer, my having cancer, Britaney being born with Spina Bifida, the lockout at Gerdau Ameristeel, where Ron was unemployed for almost one year, and last but by all means not least Hurricaine Rita, where our house was almost completely destroyed and we had no insurance. We live in College Station where I worked as a secretary for CSISD for 16 years. Although I enjoyed the years I worked for the school district, I know that my calling in life was to be a mom. I've enjoyed my children, Heather and Ryan so much and am continuing to do so along with 3 precious grandchildren. Jeff is the GM at Allen Honda in College Station and has been with the Allen family for close to 30 yrs. which is almost unheard of in the car business. He loves his job! I still long for the home I grew up in and have so many wonderful memories there. I've been so amazed at the strength that so many of my former classmates, friends and family have had through the devastating, destructive "Hurricane Ike". The loss of so much in my own family home was so "gut wrenching". I am so thankful for the years I had with my precious parents, brothers and sisters in Bridge City. What a great childhood I had! We are living in a FEMA trailor. It's very different than being in my house but thank God we have it. We are in our back yard so we are still at home. It was a horrible experience being homeless. For many years I taught riding lessons and trained young horses, specializing in Reining and training rodeo queen contestants. I helped with the horse judging program in Liberty County for about 10 years. Through that, I starting judging professionally and now hold judging credentials with several breed associations. We home-schooled our children all through school and as a result, I got very involved with politics. Our family enjoys riding motorcycles. We recently took our bikes to Colorado and rode some great highways. We also love music and singing. Jim is into Sacred Harp Singing. Of course, I still ride horses and compete at shows. Then Nan was Stationed in Okinawa Japan from 1997 till 2001, where I took up scuba diving. I was certified by PADI and then since I was spending so much time in the water I became an Instructor, then went on to become a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. However, since I moved back to the States, I haven't been teaching diving because driving a truck over the road doesn't nleave enough time to do anything else. We moved back to the area when Nan retired in 2006 and Nan is now teaching in West Orange ISD, and I have been driving off and on for the company out of Ohio. I stopped driving in July 2008 right after my first grandson was born and am currently being a bum at home. I spent the first 3 1/2 years working, stayed home for 11 years while raising babies. I started banking in Baytown, Texas where we lived for 3 or 4 years, then transferred to Jacksonville with my husbands job, V.P. of Stages Stores, Inc. D.C. I continued in banking with a total of 20 years, looking forward to retirement. I have truly been blessed through out my life time. I have had the opportunity to travel with my husband on many business trips. We love to play golf, boating, travel. One great trip was a private cruse to the Bahamas, what a true vacation. Worth area, mostly in Arlington, we picked up and moved back to SE Texas, in Bridge City---just a few weeks before Hurricane Rita. What a homecoming that was! I'm still re-learning to live with humidity, love-bugs, and everyone smells like mosquito reppellent. Home it is, though, and we are blessed to be here. Our oldest son, Malcolm, passed away in July 2006 at age 21. Our other son, Jordan, attends BC Middle School. We recently bought a house near the high school and it's something to go shoot hoops behind the school and go run (actually walk) around the track sometimes. Like going full circle, I guess. We enjoyed the 30 year reunion and look forward to more in the future. I taught school in Bridge City and lived there until 97. I taught at Hemphill for six years also. Both children graduated from Hemphill and have now graduated from Texas A&M University. My husband Ken and I are teaching in Brookeland, Texas. It is located right on Sam Rayburn Lake. Spencer is enrolled at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Allison is teaching in Iola, however has interviewed with Carolton ISD in Dallas for this coming year. They will be 24 in September. We live on Toledo Bend Lake next to Mother and Daddy. Daddy is the Superintendent for the 3rd time at Hemphill. He retires and fishes then goes back. Ken and I teach and direct at Brookeland. We have 3 years left until we can retire. We have made 2 CD's and plan to make more. We love to fish in the lake as well as go down to the beach and fish. Vidor and I at the time did not get along, I joined the Navy in 1975 and left. I married Janie Holton from Chesapeake, VA in 1978; we played music up and down the East coast from DC to Charleston for almost 20 years. We have a daughter she is now 31 and I have a granddaughter she is 11 years old as of February 14, 2006 I have a Red haired Blue eyed grandson. My wife passed away January 31, 2003; she was my best friend and was responsible for anything good I have ever done. I work for the State of Texas General Land Office, my office is in Nederland, TX and I inspect Oil and Gas Leases in 46 counties of East and North East Texas. I was catching up with the class of '77 noticing more people have updated their information for their upcoming reunion, so I thought I would also. I've been married to Doug since 1980, and we have two sons Darrin, age 22, and Andrew, age 19. Both are mechanical engineer majors at Lamar in Beaumont. Darrin is a senior, working as a co-op student in Westlake, LA for the last semester and throughout the summer. Andrew just finished his freshman year and will be co-oping soon. Doug has been employed at duPont SRW in Orange for over 25 years as an electrician. I'm starting my sixth year as the registrar in the HS counselors office, and I've been with the district for 11 years. We had quite an eventful year in 2005-06 with it being Andrew's senior year in high school. In spite of hurricane Rita, he and his classmates had one of the most successful years in athletics and academics. Andrew was a starting offensive and defensive lineman in football for three years and starting post in basketball for three years. We're especially proud of Andrew who is the first student in BCHS history to win an individual gold medal at UIL state in a math competition (Calculator). His math team (under the guidance of Faye Parish--yes, she's still coaching!) also placed first for the first time in Calculator. The team went on to place first again in 2007. Andrew was also named Mr. BCHS his senior year. Both the boys still play basketball and seem to have stopped growing (Darrin is 6'7", and Andrew is 6'4"). I really feel short around them. Doug and I are starting to travel a bit more and looking forward to many more trips with friends that don't involve football, basketball, or math. Since I work at the high school, I still get to see or talk to many of the former students who are requesting their school records. I feel fortunate to be able to come in contact with so many people who have good feelings about their high school years.
