I have 3 children by 2 former marriages. They are scattered from the Atlantic to the Pacific. I have 5 grandchildren. My better-half & I have been happily married for 10-1/2 years and our home is in Hardin, Tx. (Liberty County). She & I have no children. When the past reunions were held - I was either out-of-state or did not know who to contact for more information. But thanks to this Web site - I'll be able to keep up to date. Laura and Caroline moved to NYC and live together so we get to visit the crazy city occasionally. We are very active in First Presbyterian Orange and try to live with God front and center. I then worked at Stromberg Datagraphics as on site rep. I then worked several years as an insurance agent. I then worked for the City of Rose City as Deputy City Marshal. In 1986 we bought a 35 acre poultry farm in Nacogdoches, Texas, where we raise 80,000 broiler at a time. I had a great time at Pecker Tech picking up my undergraduate degree in education and my husband of 32 years. We remained in Beaumont for a few years, then moved to Dallas for about 8. While there I completed my master's at A&M Commerce. We had a brief stay in San Antonio and adopted our son while there. You know my standing joke is that if I had known as much about infertility in high school as I do now, damn it, I could have been Football Sweetheart! Anyway, he's now 22 and a wonderful young man and much cuter and smarter than one I could have birthed! We came to Austin to be close to the Capital so my husband could lobby, and have been here ever since. He is the president of a state-wide police union (CLEAT) and an attorney. We love to travel, and have been all over the world for both business and pleasure. I have spent the last 15 years of my career as an Educational Diagnostician in local school districts, but have recently retired and am working part-time as a consultant. Our son graduated from Columbia University last May and is back in God's country and close to his old mom and dad. And....don't even mention grandchildren! My wonderful wife(Diane Mathews, St Mary's class of 1965) hung in there with me for all that time, so when we retired from the Air Force we came home to take care of her mom. Recently, that has taken a good deal of our time since she had a stroke in 2000. I spent three years at Community Christian School in Orange as an English/Math teacher and a coach while at the same time getting my teacher's certification and my Master's Degree in Counseling and Development. I then worked in the Lumberton ISD for a year as a counselor. I moved into a position as a counselor with a foster care agency and worked with them for three years. I then hung up my shingle as a Licensed Professional Counselor to see if I could make it working for myself. All the while I was hoping to get a position as a counselor in BC. That opportunity came in 2001 when Terry Stuebing moved up from counselor to principal at BCHS. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at BCHS. I've had the opportunity to counsel the kids of some of my classmates and the grandkids of some as well. I am even getting to counsel my nephew Mark's son Jace who will be a senior this year. I don't know if he always enjoys having his great-uncle there to keep him from doing the things I did in school, but I certainly enjoy watching him and all the kids progress through high school. As you can see, we have been truly blessed to be able to go places and see things we would never have imagined and then to return home and give back to the community in some small way. Once my mother-in-law went to heaven in 2008, we started looking for another place to call home. We finally settled on Belton, TX, near Ft Hood, and moved there in September 2009. I now am back to "work" as a Consultant for a Department of Defense contractor. I now work with the military and their families and it's the best job in the world -- that's why I put work in quotes. I am so blessed to be able to give back to our military members in some small way by helping them deal with the challenges they face. When you stop to think that we were cheering those Cardinals to the play-offs 35 years ago, that sounds old! I live in Katy, Texas which is just west of Houston. I teach 2nd grade and stay more busy than ever. My elementary school just received the National Blue Ribbon Award and I got to to to D.C. to receive the award. That was great fun ! I am happily married to the same guy for 30 years now. We have two handsome sons: Rich just graduated from A&M (Whoop) and J.P. will graduate from Ole Miss this next year. He took one look at the campus, heard those sweet southern accents and saw those gorgeous girls and all those Texas schools didn't hold interest any longer. I was honored to have been chosen as a State Trainer for the 2nd grade Reading Academies that were done this last year. I have been asked to do a repeat performance next summer too. There, we divorced. In 1976, I met my current husband. We married the next year. Our blended family includes my son and daughter, his two boys and daughter and a son, now deceased, with my husband, Norbert. In Raleigh, Norbert was the computer center director at Shaw University and Meredith College. I did social work for Wake County Social Services. Norbert immigrated to the U.S. from German in 1961. In 1978, the children and I had the opportunity to move to and learn about life in his home country for three years. The kids all learned to speak fluently in Nuerenberg public schools and every day they had free, we enjoyed wonderful adventures throughout Germany and Europe. A job with Hilti brought us back to America. I got a second bachelor's degree in elementary education and spent the next several years teaching science and German in a Tulsa public middle school. With no moss growing under our feet, we were on the move again seven years later, this time to Northfield, MN. Both of us loved Northfield and worked at St. Olaf College. Norbert was again a college computer center director. I began as an Upward Bound Program counselor, then transitioned to Coordinator of the Wellness Center, while finishing my master's degree through St. Mary's University. New degree in hand, I set out in my third career as a licensed psychologist with Catholic Charities and Allina Medical Clinic. In 2000, with Norbert's retirement fast approaching, I had to decide whether to keep my secure job at the clinic or to strike out on an adventure with him. I chose adventure. We applied to the U.S. Peace Corps. Waiting for acceptance, we moved to my parent's home in Oklahoma to help care for my father. After his death, a three month road trip took us the full length of the West Coast. On the last day of the trip, crossing the Texas-Oklahoma border, we received an acceptance call from Washington. In January 2001, we were off to Thailand. Unfortunately, an accident forced our early return. Over the next several months, we experience several family crises and losses. We built a home in Colorado, moved in, finished the exterior work, and decided that Thailand was unfinished business for us. One month too late to be reinstated to the Peace Corps, we returned to Thailand on our own and spent the next four years doing volunteer work with Burmese refugees along the Thai-Burma border. Our family missed us and Norbert was having problems with his feet. In 2005, we returned to Colorado where he was finally diagnosed with CIDP, a rare autoimmune disease attacking the covering of his nerves. Our next four years were filled with babysitting our 15th grandchild and traveling to Denver for medical tests, visits with specialists, infusions, and chemotherapy, all to no avail. In 2007, shortly after one more brief return to Thailand, he could no longer drive and began using a power wheelchair. When my daughter finished her medical residency in Denver and accepted a job in the Pacific Northwest, she and her husband asked us to relocate with them. We did, and as of December 2008, Washington is our new home. We spend our time playing with the three closest grandchildren, visiting friends, and doing water aerobics. I've begun dabbling at art, jewelry making, and quilting. We've also made contacts with local non-profits and Burmese refugees who have come to the Seattle area and hope to help them with resettlement in the coming years. My older son, Michael is an international investment broker and lives with his family in Connecticut. My daughter, Ryan, is an emergency medicine doctor in Everett, WA and on faculty at Harbor View Hospital in Seattle. Norbert's children are in Portland, OR, Battle Creek, MI, and Intercourse, PA. So you can see that our lives are also filled trying to find ways to stay connected to everyone without making a transcontinental road trip every year. (Updated 6/23/2011)

I did get to retire early. I now live in beautiful Hideaway, TX. It's a little city, about 12 miles NW of Tyler, without city taxes. Its a private gated community with 27 holes of golf, 3 lakes, swimming pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, and small parks. Don't get the wrong ideal, Hideway is not an uppity country club. It used to be a getaway destination for Dallas and Shreveport weekenders starting in 1960's. Now those people are living here. Happily married to Vicki Sanders, of Orange, going on 41 years. My son and grandson live in Groves, they bleed purple now. My daughter lives in Terrell, with her pets. (Updated 6/23/2011)

I went into the service (Navy) San Diego for 4 years and had a great experience there. Moved to Washington State in the Pacific Northwest became a welder in a voctec school and went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad, Married have beautiful daughter and a handsome grandson that will be 3 in July. Remarried happily in 97 my wife Sally has a beautiful daughter age 22 in Washington State University, where she is a Chemistry Major studying to be a student (send money) My daughter Traci is a nurse, doing very well as a single Mom. Our hobbies are gold panning (Send money) medal detecting (same) boating and fishing. I still have about 12 years to retirement as the Milwaukee closed its doors. And I had to work in the remanufacturing of diesel engines for about 10 years. I attended two years, dropped out and got married. We had one son Michael. I worked a variety of jobs before eventually joining the Army in 1973. Naturally, I was in the band. I actually found a place where I could earn a living playing trombone. Immediately after basic training I was transferred to Norfolk, VA to the Armed Forces School of Music located on Little Creek Naval Amphibious base. I managed to audition for and get accepted into The Continental Army Band, a major command band located at Fort Monroe, Virginia. My first wife and I got a divorce and a few years later I married Linda my second, current, and last wife. A few years later I transferred back to the School of Music as a staff member. I remained there (with a one year "vacation" to Korea in the middle) for the rest of my career. I retired in January 1993. During my last four years on active duty, I went back to college and got a degree in Computer Science. I worked for a government contractor doing computer security work for NASA for the next 17 years and retired in October 2010. Linda and I have one son, Chris. He graduated from James Madison University and has been employed by the Hyatt Corporation for the last six years. He is currently the Front Office Manager at the Hyatt Regency in Pittsburgh, PA and has a lovely wife and two beautiful daughters, with a third child on the way. Number one son Mike, after a stint in the Navy is currently employed at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern Connecticut State University, I attended our 40 year class reunion in June 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have one 28 yr. old son, Jason, who has been living in Ohio where he has a little girl and little boy (ANOTHER Mike Baker). Mike has worked for years in Supervision in Construction at the local refineries, and in 2002 he went back to college and became a "State Certified Real Estate (Home) Inspector". He still works at the refineries, and does inspections also. I had worked for years in the Secretarial field (at SW Bell, the Orange Police Dept. and Office Mgr. for Farmers Insurance), but am now just being the "Administrative Assistant" for 'BAKER HOME INSPECTIONS'. We live off IH 10 between Orange & Vidor. I was diagnosed in 1998 with Relapsing/Remitting Multiple Sclerosis, but am doing just fine! I use to come down and visit every couple of years but driving long distances is getting more difficult and I am a white knuckle flyer ever though I worked at Mcdonnell Douglas for almost 10 years or maybe that's why I'm nervous about flying if you really knew what goes on sometimes he he. sorta like not knowing what are in hot dogs get it? I don't think I ever forgave my dad for that move....lol. Anyway, I married in 1970, divorced in 1978. I have 2 beautiful daughters, Melanie (31) and Erin (26), and two wonderful grandchildren...Jacob (5) and Madeleine (16 mos). I moved to Dallas in 1985 and was there for 12 years, working for AirTouch Paging (now Verizon). I moved back to the Houston (Sugar Land) area in 1997 for family reasons. I've been working as an accountant for 30+ years. I'm currently working for a small oilfield/refinery services company in Houston. I am single and currently keep busy with my work, church, family, going to the symphony, theatre, babysitting grandkids - it's the greatest, etc..... I have always kept my BC friends close at heart, Alvin was just a 4 year nightmare, and would love to hear from any of you that might remember me. This website is fabulous and it's been great reading everyone's postings. The saddest part was learning of those from this class who have passed on. I mean, I started kindergarten with most of these people and it's hard to believe they're gone. Anyway, I hope to hear from some long, lost friends in the future. She is presently working at the same school as Ric while working on a masters degree. They live in Boise, so I\'m happy they are so close by. He has one step-daughter, Harlee, four years old, and one son, Hadley, one and half years old. My daughter, Lyndsey, is sixteen years old and is a sophomore at Vinton High School. I was so looking forward to our 30th reunion. I hope we can get one together for our 35th or 40th. It's great hearing from all of you. I have often wondered what happened to everyone. I don't work outside the home anymore (except in the yard) :) so ya'll write and let me know how ya'll are and what you're up to. My step son and his wife just had their fourth child. And grandma here gets to keep him while mom is teaching at the Elementary school. Or should I say spoiling him?? We have eight grandchildren in all. They range in age from 14 to 2 months. E-mail: skipnixon@aol.com I joined the US Air Force two weeks after graduation , June 6, 1969. I spent the next ten years on active duty with the Air Force. I served tours in the Philippines, Thailand, and the Netherlands. I married Vicki Storey May 26, 1972. My how time flies. We have three daughters. Our first daughter, Jennifer Michelle, was born in a Dutch hospital in Soest , the Netherlands. Our other two daughters , Allison and Merri, were born right here in Orange Memorial. I got out of the Air Force in Dec 1979. I went to work for Burroughs Corporation which later became Unisys as a Field Service Engineer working on various computer systems. At the same time I continued my military career by joining the Texas Air National Guard. In Aug 1993 I took a voluntary layoff from Unisys and joined the Texas Air National Guard as a fulltime civil service technician. I'm currently the production controller for our guard unit. Our guard unit , the 273 Engineering Installation Squadron, engineers and installs communications systems for Department Of Defense customers around the world. I was just promoted the Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) this past October. I spend a LOT of time on the road. Just ask Vicki. Our two youngest daughters, Allison and Merri, are both mentally and physically handicapped. They both attend the Life Skills class at BCHS. I must say the Lord has really blessed me with a wonderful wife and family. God Bless All. I have a daughter Alexis, just turned 19 and is a student at the University of Idaho and a son Max, who just turned 14, and will be in high school next year. Max is mr. personality (and i'm not at all predjustice) He is very athletic.. and the only sport he hasn't played yet is baseball.. Football, tennis, golf, soccer, Basketball (my favorite) and now Lacrosse.. I DON'T get Lacrosse.. He is very social and only gets in trouble for talking .. SOOOO What.. It could be worse.. anyway, we'll be working on academics next year..I HOPE!!. Anyway, I can't believe its been so long ago that we all graduated high school..Alexis, very much like her dad, reserved and oh so thoughtful. She's a beautiful young lady.. She is majoring in communications and minor in business.. She played tennis in hight school and was a cheerleader for a couple of years and then, she got over it..ha ha.. just kidding..She is pledged to the Tri Delta soroity at the university and I'm going up next weekend for MOM's weekend.. Just the girls.. My husbands business took us to Minneapolis, St. Louis, Omaha, Sarasota, Fl. and we are now living in Meridian , Idaho.(no not Iowa) Ken, my husband grew up here and I knew we would return sometime.. Actually, he thinks he is retired.. NOT..Fortunately for me I've been a stay at home mom..But, I don't stay at home...My passion is playing tennis..tennis... tennis and a little more tennis.. I like to collect antiques, and I play golf when I have to..Love to keep busy. I tried this summer to find out if we were having a 30th reunion, to no avail. Maybe this web site will help us keep in touch. I hope so. Renee Elaine Middleton and I met when I was at school at Texas A&M in Bryan. We got married in 1974 in Bridge City. I came home and went to work at Hubbard Electric in BC, and Renee went to work for Dr. David Olson. Renee & I moved to Austin in 1984. We are preparing to build our first home in Elgin (20 miles east of Austin). We have 35 acres with a barn, two quarterhorses, eleven cows, three pygmy goats, four chickens, three ducks, and I don't know how many catfish, bass and perch. (We had guinea's, geese, more chickens and ducks until the coyotes got them!) Rachel Pruitt Crafts (24), our daughter and her husband Eric, bought land that adjoins ours, and they already live in Elgin. No children yet! Kyle (21), our son and his wife Tammy, just had our 1st grandson (Kyle Allen Pruitt, 1 year old, 01/14/00). They live in Cedar Park. My parents Bob and Duiane Pruitt also live in Cedar Park. They're both married, but only the youngest has made me a grandmother. My 6 month old grandbaby, Cameron Hunter is precious. I've worked at Gordon's Jewelry store in Houston after graduating, Gulf States Utilities Co. after moving back to B.C. Then went to Lamar and U.of H. to get psychology degrees while I bartended, practiced counseling for 6 years before becoming the Director over the Adult Outpatient and Children Services at the local mental health agency, Spindletop MHMR. I remarried in 1990 and am very happy with my life. I love to read detective novels, real crime and watch Will and Grace, Friends, Frazier, Who's Line is it Anyway and other sitcoms. We were in church work in southern Baptist churches for most of our married life. He has a music degree from Lamar and got a Computer Information Science degree in 1997 and works for United Space Alliance and does computer programming for NASA. He writes and maintains some of the software that is used by flight controllers in Mission Control to send commands to the International Space Station. We have both written Christian music that has been published by Word, Inc. He has written 5 senior adult musicals that have been published and First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, under the direction of John Glover, has done all of them. I am writing two children's books that are being considered for publication. I am making a trip to Providence, Rhode Island, on June 3rd, 2000, to talk with a publisher and an editor for the children's division. I have also been in touch with an illustrator from Dallas. I will go to Plymouth Rock and see the Mayflower while I'm up there. We will also go to the Empire State Building and do photo shoots for my books. I am so excited about this. Robert and I have two children, Bryan, 29, who is married to our wonderful daughter-in-law, Samantha Gayle Mitchell Robinson, from Vidor. They got married on my parents' 51st wedding anniversary on April 17, 1999. We also have a daughter, Marla, 26. We have two wonderful little grandchildren, Destinye Fayth, who is 7, and Zachary Seth, who will be 2 on June 1st. We have moved around a lot but are in Webster to stay. We love it here. It is like living in a modern day Mayberry. It is wonderful. I would love to hear from former classmates and classmates and people that I grew up with who weren't in my grade. I love people and I love to laugh. You would not know me, now. I am not the shy person I used to be. My mother said that God worked overtime on me when I asked him to take away my shyness. I think he did, but being in the ministry, I just could not be shy. I look forward from hearing from anyone from Bridge City and I promise to write you back. We live in Lumberton, Texas. We spend most of our time cruising and vacationing. We choose a different state or country every year for vacation and spend a whole month there. Larry is a Professor teaching at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX. He is Chairman of Aeronautical Technology and works with Continental Airlines to train pilots. As for me and mine, after graduation I graduated from Louisiana College and went on to Seminary in Ft. Worth. While in Ft. Worth, I met Connie Partridge, and we were married in Atlanta,Ga. We have four children, Landrum (24) married to Mindy, Dara (22), Anna Beth (19), and Josh (17). My family and I have served in churches in Ashdown, Ark,, Alexandria, La., Corpus Christi, Tx., and now in Spring, Tx. At the present, I am the Associate Pastor at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Spring. Last year, Connie and I were able to build our dream home in Magnolia, Tx., and have enjoyed being out in the woods so very much. Like the rest of you, we have experienced some things that in 1969 I never dreamed would ever be a part of my life, but God has been good.
