Own TAG xtreme (gymnastics and cheerleading). Just recently returned from a 2-week long trip to China. My gymnast were selected to travel and train in China along side the Hunan Jr. National team and China's Olympic Coaches. An experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Can't wait to return next summer with the hopes of possibly going to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Have not taken the big plunge of marriage or children. I keep pretty busy with running my own business. Keep in contact with many friends via church and the fact that I teach many of their children. What a blessing it is to have the privilege of doing so. Korea till 2004, completed my term of service and now I'm finishing my last few classes studying abroad in the Netherlands. I'm in a long term relationship (5 years) and plan to eventually move back here to for good. I haven't made much of an effort to keep in touch with anyone... I consider this growth... We are about 15 minutes south of Nashville. Brent is working as a project manager for an architecture firm in Brentwood TN. I have been working with the Nashville Child Advocacy Center as a Forensic Interviewer, but will soon join the Williamson County CAC as their full-time Forensic Interviewer. (Closer to home) We saw lots of snow last winter which is definitely a change from Texas and we actually have 4 seasons, not just HOT!! The hills are beautiful and celebrities are everywhere. Lauren is growing like a weed and has lots of character. We miss our family and friends but our quality of life is much better here. Look us up if you need a tour guide when you visit Nashville. He spent from November 2005 until November 2006 working in Iraq with KBR and when he Finally came home for good...we got married. We had a Victorian Christmas Wedding and it was beautiful. Our son Ayden Lane was born on January 15, 2008, he was delivered by emergency c-section 2 weeks early. I developed a life-threatening illness during my pregnancy- Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy- which is very rare and occurs in 1 in 15,000 women (and I got it...had to be me.) My later days of pregnancy before he was born we're very scary...The weekend before his emergency delivery I vomited for 4 days straight and lost 11 pounds, I was severely dehydrated and so was he, and I was in liver failure along with kidney failure. The only solution to stop the disease progression before it killed me (and most likey him, too) was emergency delivery...I had no choice...and I thank God daily that he was only 2 weeks early instead of 2 months. We both spent several days in the ICU...He in the NICU...and we both we extremely ill. I was put on a morphine pump and have very few memories of his first days of life...I only have one memory...they brought him into the ICU still hooked up to oxyden and his IV in the top of his head...and I held him for a few minutes. That's it...no other memories. Kirk says that when I saw him I introduced myself to him as "Hello Ayden...I'm Layna and I'm your mommy and I love you so much!" Cute huh...and formal! After days of morphine and clawing my face up because of the "morphine itch," they finally changed my pain meds to dilaudid...and I was more coherant and got to really LOVE on my son!!! He recovered very quickly...while I took months and months to recover (and have normal liver function tests.) I still have to have my liver labs run at my check-ups. I was told by my liver specialist before our discharge that I was a "text-book case", a "miracle"....if I had waited one more day before coming in to my doctor for the vomiting...I would have been dead, and Ayden may have been as well. I can not have any more children...but I am super blessed with one heroic and brave Little Man who is THE LIFE OF MY LIFE! I am also blessed with two wonderful step-children! And through it all...Kirk was right by my side...right there to keep me strong and to love me and our son! I Thank God for saving my son's life...and for sparing mine so that I am able to be a part of his life and to see him grow up! PLEASE Believe in Miracles, because WE are PROOF of God's Love! During the schoolyear, they go to Mother's Day Out one day a week, for 5 hours, but other than that they are at home, which doesn't always leave a lot of time for uninterrupted work on a dissertation! I on the other hand will be holding the house down, escorting kids to school, and baseball/softball practices etc. Did I mention we also have a great dane,dachshund,and chi-rat? I worked in that capacity for 4 years. I attended Austin Institute of Real Estate in 2004. Our family began attending Inquirers classes at Saint Elias Orthodox Church and joined the Eastern Orthodox faith in April 2004. I began working part-time as the secretary at Saint Elias Church with the intention of beginning a career in real estate. (I chose soon after not to do that afterall) We welcomed our newest addition to the family, Carson Makarios in August 2006. We purchased a home in Austin, TX in June 2006 Evan works at UPS and has worked there for the past 11 years. I work at Texas Mutual Insurance Company as the Sr. Administrative Assistant for the Sr. Vice-President of Financial Services. The high fuel prices prompted us to buy more economical cars- so I traded in my Chevy Trailblazer for a Honda Civic. It's cute and fits me well! Graduated from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers) with a degree in Biological Science with a genetics concentration. Spent a year working at bookstores (my dream job if only they paid a heck of a lot more) while waiting to start my internship. I am now a Medical Technologist working in a hospital lab in Bryan, Tx. I will hopefully be starting graduate school in a year and get a degree in microbiology. I spend most of my time off traveling to visit friends, just traveling in general (a definate benefit of not being tied down), and going out dancing with friends.
