I'm teaching High School Computer Classes at Joaquin High School. This is my 10th year at Joaquin. Robert and I have been married for 21 years now. Our children keep us busy. Ashleigh is a Junior, a majorette, a trombone player, a tennis player, very active in the Youth Group at church (First Baptist in Carthage, TX), ranked 2nd in her class, etc. Michaila is in 7th grade, a trumpet player, a cross country runner, basketball player, track runner, very active in the Youth Group at church, ranked 2nd or 3rd in her class, etc. Summers keep us very busy. The girls go on Mission Trips as well as a week at Church camp, and this summer Ashleigh is scheduled to go to NASA for a week for the Aerospace Scholars program. We also try to take a 2-week camping family vacation each year (which we all really look forward to!). Basically, we do as much as we can with our kids, because they are growing up so fast!! I moved to the D/FW area in the middle of my junior year (fall 1980) so I regrettably wasn't able to graduate with my classmates but I always considered myself a Cardinal at heart. I loved growing up in Bridge City. Living in the sprawling Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and travelling all over the country during the past 15+ years as a musician has really made me appreciate the wonderful, small town atmosphere and the great times I had as a kid there. Occupation: Paralegal Bio: I obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice at Lamar University-Beaumont and began working for the College Station Police Department as Police Dispatcher/Jailer. What interesting work that was! (Too bad the pay was so poor.) From there, I began working for the Federal Prison System and spent 11 years doing that work. Extremely stressful but, looking back, it taught me a lot about people and myself. So, I now look at that experience as rewarding (and eye-opening). I never would have said that while employed there though..... I finally decided to get a certificate in Paralegal Studies and am now working for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a paralegal. I never married - there never seemed to be enough time/energy (especially while working in the BOP) to devote to the search...I guess I have now decided that I like being single and having my freedom (which would explain why I never thought I had the time). I have a volunteer job that brings me so much joy I never knew was possible. I volunteer with a therapeutic horsemanship organization and work with mentally and/or physically challenged children and adults. How humbling to see these people enjoy life to its fullest and not allow disabilities to slow them down!!!! They are awesome (not to mention the horses!!!) I would love to hear from old friends since I haven't made even one of the reunions and probably won't in the future.....God bless you all!
