However, I remember it like it was yesterday. These days, I wish it was. Right now, I live in Southwest Florida and I anchor the 6 and 11 newscasts for the local ABC affiliate. This is a beautiful part of the country growing at an alarming rate. It's almost directly across the Gulf from home so I don't feel so far away. Well, in 1981 I left B.C. to go to Mc Neese State for a year. After I had had my fill if that, I joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in Southern California at Camp Pendleton. I did my 4 years (82-86), had a great time, and when it was over I headed to Northern California (Sacramento) to take a look around. There I met a beautiful lady (Robin) an got married in 1989. We have 3 wonderful daughters - Caitlin(11), Brenna(9) & Alanna(3). I live in a town called Rocklin, Ca. which is at the base of the Sierra foothills. It's bout 2 hours to Tahoe, or 2 hours to San Francisco from here. I've been working for myself for the last 5 years. I have a small software development company. I still race model boats, go karts, motorcycles, etc. and generally act about the same (cut up all the time). My kids give me the strangest looks when I play "AC/DC" really loud out in the garage.... I've been here ever since working for the same company (an oddity in the software business) but the company has changed names four times (MSA 1985-1989, DBS 1989-1996, Geac 1996-2005, Infor 2005-present). I've worked in several different areas of these organization development, support and consulting) along with a brief "sabbatical" at ADP before being lured back to Geac for a management position by the director of HR product support. I am married to a wonderful woman with an artistic bent and twisted sense of humor. Cherie currently heads up the Academy of the Arts at our church Perimeter (www.perimeter.org) thereby keeping me on my toes concerning the real substance of life which is more affect than effect. :-) We have two wonderful young people living with us -- Travis and Abby and enjoy the ever-expanding Atlanta area, though like every one else here, despise the traffic. I have an older brother (Brad class of 79) and sister Kay (class of72). OK here's the low down, after leaving BC went Nacanowhere and finished school got a job as a food broker for 4 years and as fate would have it I had a store in BC that I sold to. Got a license to practice real estate in August of 1985and moved to Dallas. Thought I made the biggest mistake of my life going from a good salary job company car to commission only and no benefits. Things did get better finally. When they did Brad joined me, and has been smokin ever since. Got married to a nude dancer ( just kidding) 12 years ago, have 2 mean-ass step kids, but otherwise things are going pretty good. My wife and I live in the suburbs of Dallas (Carrollton) and love it. Well having an older brother I was referred to a lot as Brad s little brother. I learned a lot from his friends good and bad. Going to Burgertown and smoking for example jumping off the cow bayou bridges. I remember the time Rusty Palmore jumped off the little bridge and landed on a passing jet boat below and broke his leg. Have good memories of coaches and teachers. Had a sister who died in 73 and would like to hear from anyone who knew her, or Brad and I. As I look back now with no regrets I would not have traded places with anyone. The early years in BC < believe it or not> helped prepare me for a very full life that I now enjoy. My step son and daughter can hardly believe me when I tell them the stories. Have not been back to BC in about 16 years. Brad did go to his 20th reunion and had a ball. My son Tyler (23) lives in BC & works at Metal Depot in Orange, planning to move to Missouri, my home state. Stepson Chris (20) lives in Hamshire - discovered a new love - working construction. My son Chad (19 y/o twin) lives in Beaumont with us - going to Lamar studying Biology. He has a sweet girlfriend & a new job at Johnson Controls in the Exxon/Mobil plant. My son Brad (19 y/o twin) is in the Army stationed in Camp Casey, South Korea about 40 miles north of Seoul. He's starting a degree in general studies, taking Praying Mantis Kung Fu & Tai Kwon Do, as well as learning to speak & read the language there. Thanks to email, cell phones, and myspace, we get to talk or at least communicate fairly often. My step-son Joey (17 y/o) is a Senior at Hamshire-Fannett HS and job hunting. And, last but not least, my only daughter Tara (16 y/o) is a Junior at BC. She's a beautiful BC Strutter and in the art club. She's driving her own car, now! Tony is a Sherriff Deputy in Chamber County; his territory is Winnie. We plan to move that direction after I graduate (and payoff the mounting college loan)!
