Her new Army job brought us here. This is the 6th place we have lived in 8 years. We bought our first house here, so we will be here for a while, anyway. We are eventually coming back to Texas. We have two dogs and a cat. What a trip they are! I'm still looking for a second career. Teaching 15 years was enough for me. Ashley and I are playing softball and loving the competition, but loving winning games more. She also plays on a team that travels to different states to play tournaments. That is about all. | Jody Dunivant (Class of 1978) Website Supporter Location: Houston, Texas E-mail: ositodun@aol.com Occupation: Market Operations Manager/Bank of America Bio: As 30 years have passed from our High School days, so have 25 years working with the same employer. Last year, I almost gave it all up for the "R" word, but was convinced to stay on with the Bank in a new capacity. Still have the option of retiring, but need to decide what I really want to do when I grow up before I launch into the second career. Over the past couple of years, I've been very fortunate in having been able to travel to Italy, Greece, Brazil, the Domincan Republic, Puerto Rico, and most recently, a couple of weeks in Hawaii. It's great to be with someone who has an international marketing job, the stressful part is planning the next vacation around those business trips. A little of the European culture has rubbed off as we recently bought a Mini Cooper convertible. A welcome addition to the family....and lots of fun to drive. I was hoping to catch up with some of you this year. I still connect with BC often as my Mom and step siblings of Heberts are all in the area, with all the Cajun food and music. We have a little land and horses, so I like to joke and say "I'm just living the cowboy way". I've determined I must be old because I really enjoy getting on the tractor and moving dirt and stuff. I am still in music, still ride motorcycles and still enjoy boats and skiing. Our oldest, the girl, graduated in 2004, the next one is a senior (05/06), plays a lot of sports and plays guitar and writes songs better than I have ever thought about writing. Occasionally we get to perform together, which is pretty fulfilling. The youngest is a freshman, is the brain of the bunch and is pretty accomplished in sports as well. We've been here ever since. Even though I've now lived longer in this area than I did in Bridge City, BC is still "home". I spent a lot of my time in England with my English bride of over 24 years. I have been to England, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, France plus 6 or 7 other countries and over 35 states. I am now happily retired; living in the Historic District of San Marcos and commute to Austin daily working for Ascension Health out of St Louis. My son graduated from the University of Texas in 2005 as an Aerospace Engineer and is now working on his post graduate studies at MIT. We spend a lot of time traveling, enjoy the theater, sporting events, (I discovered Spring Training Baseball in Florida in 2005) and are on the go most weekends. | Karyn LeBlanc-Trantham (Class of 1978) Website Supporter Location: Mauriceville E-mail: luvmy2dachs@aol.com Children: Eric (6/82), Stacie (5/85), and Brittany (1/88) MySpace Address: karyntrantham Facebook Address: Karyn LeBlanc Trantham Occupation: permanently disabled Bio: after 15 yrs of being a paramedic working in orange county, mainly the BC district, i blew my back out, it was not one specific incident, it was 15 yrs of chronic abuse of my back, the number one hazard of EMS. it got my whole back--every disc in my spine was either herniated or bulged except for C1-C2, the first 2 of the spine. to date i've had 4 spinal surgeries, 2 neck and 2 lumbar. my thoracic spine is still messed up but i can't find a doctor that will operate on the T-spine, and my dr. says that my back "is such a trainwreck" that going through more surgeries and the subseqent recoveries wouldn't make much difference anyway. we are working on getting my pain under control now, i've been in pain 24/7 for the last 2 yrs. and it looks like i'm just going to have to deal with it. enough about me, time to brag about my kids. eric graduated from BCHS, went to SFA where he got his B.A. in Business and also met his now wife brenda who is graduating in may '10 with a B.A. in Education and already has a job as an 8th grade math and science teacher in nacogdoches. eric is a buyer for a commercial electric supply company. he worked and put himself through college, as did stacie. she is married to micah hollier, ladonna and ricky hollier's son, and they have made us grandparents of a precious little boy named malachi who will be 2 in august. stacie also worked and put herself through college and got her elementary education certificate and was taking time off until malachi got older, but now they are breaking all our hearts by moving to phoenix, az where micah will be earning a degree in film production. i have a feeling i'm going to rack up some serious frequent flyer miles, especially now that i can't work, i just will have to suck it up and bring my wheelchair because i can't walk from the front door of walmart to the back without excrutiating pain, there is no way i can walk through an airport. anyway, he is supposed to finish in 3 yrs. and then they plan on coming home unless he gets a job offer out that way. they leave april 30, which as i'm typing this is in 2 days. brittany is still single and loving life, she too is working her way through colloge with a double major in business, marketing and human resources, if all goes as planned, she will graduate in may '11. they all graduated from BCHS where eric and stacie were in the marching band, and eric was also in the SFA marching band. brittany was in athletics and played basketball, volleyball, softball, track and tried tennis but didn't care for it. the class of '78 just had their 31st reunion (ike came uninvited into town on our 30th) and 50th birthday party, and lots of people made it in for the party, and party it was. it was fun catching up with everyone and it was like one big happy family!! i love BC, that's why i lived there and put my kids in the BCISD. i moved to mauriceville in may '08 and became disabled on april 23, '08. my significant other got the short end of the stick but has never complained!! so, that's my life at the moment....i'm on facebook usually every day, so send me a friend request so we can catch up. brian truncale took (and jumped into) a lot of good pictures, i'll ask him to post them on the reunion page. everyone stay safe!! We've been very busy the last few months rebuilding the entire front of our house due to Hurricane Rita, and I am sooooo very thankful to be about done. If you are out of the area, you missed a real eye opener!! It was something I've never seen and pray never to see again. The family all evacuated, got separated, and I was sure I'd have to miss the birth of my newest granddaughter.
